On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, SMPS Harapan Prestasi conducted an exciting and educational field trip for Grade 7 students to Bogor, visiting three important learning destinations:
- Bogor Botanical Gardens,
- The Museum of Indonesian Natural History (MUNASAIN), and
- Bogor Presidential Palace.
The goal of this trip was to help students connect classroom lessons with real-world experiences in nature, history, and culture.
A total of 20 students and 5 teacher chaperones joined the trip with high enthusiasm. The activities began early in the morning with a briefing session at school, followed by a bus ride to Bogor.
The first stop was Bogor Botanical Gardens, where students explored various rare plants, orchid collections, and observed birds and insects in their natural environment. This visit gave them a better understanding of biodiversity and environmental conservation.
Next, they visited MUNASAIN (Museum Nasional Alam Indonesia). Through interactive exhibits, students learned about Indonesia’s rich natural history, science, and cultural heritage. This hands-on experience helped them gain deeper insights into the lessons they’ve learned at school.
After a short lunch break, the group continued to the final destination — the Bogor Presidential Palace. There, students discovered the historical background of the palace, its role during colonial times, and its current function as one of the official residences of the President of Indonesia. This visit inspired students to appreciate Indonesia’s historical heritage.
The field trip wrapped up in the afternoon as students returned safely to school. Throughout the day, the students showed great excitement and curiosity, actively engaging in discussions, asking questions, and sharing their thoughts with teachers and friends.
This educational journey successfully provided students with a meaningful learning experience outside the classroom. They gained knowledge, developed teamwork, and deepened their appreciation for nature and national history.
We extend our sincere thanks to all who supported this activity – the school community, parents, and teacher chaperones. Your cooperation made this enriching experience possible.
We hope to continue organizing valuable learning activities that support the growth of well-rounded, informed, and responsible students.
