Celebrating Kartini Day is not only a way to remember an inspirational figure whose thoughts challenged patriarchy and male domination system. For Indonesia to move forward we must achieve women empowerment. Like Kartini, women must believe that light comes after darkness, the way she envisioned it for the generations that would come after her.
Kartini Day is one of the most celebrated events in SHP. It started with a parade, followed by the Flag raising ceremony and class performances. It’s not just a mere celebration but a special commemoration to remind us that women and men are supposed to be equal.
