Jakarta, July 24, 2026 – Sekolah Harapan Prestasi (SHP) warmly welcomed its newest families through the Family Gathering 2026, an annual event held at the school’s main courtyard under the theme “One Family, One Journey, Endless Memories.” The gathering brought together more than 320 participants, including new Primary 1 and Secondary 7 students and their families, teachers, staff members, and school leaders, in an evening filled with meaningful interactions, performances, games, and fellowship.
The Family Gathering was designed to foster a strong partnership between the school and parents, recognizing that quality education is best achieved when schools and families work hand in hand. Beyond serving as an orientation event, the program provided an opportunity for parents to become more familiar with the school’s educational philosophy, programs, teachers, and the supportive learning environment that their children will experience throughout the academic year.
The event officially opened with a warm welcome, followed by prayers representing five religions, reflecting SHP’s commitment to diversity and mutual respect. Parents were then greeted by Mr. Iffan Darmawan, Chairman of Yayasan Kasih Kibar Kreasi Indonesia, who encouraged every family to actively participate in their children’s educational journey and emphasized the importance of collaboration between home and school.
Throughout the evening, families enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including student performances from Primary 1 and Secondary 7, exciting family games, live music by the SHP Band, teacher performances, dinner, and a lucky draw. These activities created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing parents, students, teachers, and staff to build meaningful relationships beyond the classroom.
During an interview with the school principal, Gunawan, M.Pd., he explained that the Family Gathering has become one of SHP’s signature annual traditions.
“This is the third consecutive year that we have organized the SHP Family Gathering, and it has now become one of our annual flagship programs. Our primary goal is to warmly welcome our new Primary 1 and Secondary 7 families into the Harapan Prestasi community. We want every parent and every child to feel that they belong here from the very beginning. When families feel comfortable, connected, and supported, students are more confident and better prepared to participate successfully in the learning process.”
Mr. Gunawan further emphasized that education extends far beyond academic achievement. Strong communication, mutual trust, and positive collaboration between parents and educators are essential foundations for nurturing students who are confident, responsible, and prepared for future challenges.
The objectives of the Family Gathering align closely with SHP’s mission to strengthen communication between parents and the school, encourage parental involvement in educational programs, build lasting relationships among all members of the school community, and create a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.
As the evening concluded with a group photo session and the distribution of souvenirs, families left with smiles, new friendships, and a stronger sense of belonging.
