Last Saturday, 27 July 2024, the parenting seminar featuring speaker Aegidius Sunomo, also known as Coach Egi, was a thought-provoking experience for all parents. The speaker stressed the crucial role of parents as mentors to their children, highlighting the impact of positive role modelling, support, and appreciation.
Parenting children of the Alpha Generation presents unique challenges due to their early exposure to technology, which can hinder their social and emotional development, as well as stifle their creativity and imagination.
It is essential for parents to dedicate quality time to engage their children in activities that do not involve technology. For instance, families can bond through sports and arts on weekends, and involving kids in simple household chores can nurture independence and resilience. These endeavours are sure to foster happier children and, ultimately, happier families.
