Jakarta, October 9, 2025 — SDS Harapan Prestasi held a special seminar on Sex Education with the theme “All About Me: Growing Up Safe and Smart.” The activity was organized for Grade 5 and Grade 6 students to help them understand their bodies, respect personal boundaries, and learn how to protect themselves from unsafe situations. The seminar was attended by 106 students and supported by teachers and homeroom mentors who guided the sessions throughout the morning.
To make the learning meaningful and age-appropriate, the school invited medical professionals, Dr. Albertus Adiwenanto W. and Dr. Glaudia, as guest speakers. They delivered the material in a friendly and interactive way, encouraging students to ask questions and share their thoughts. The main goals of the seminar were to help students recognize and respect private body parts, understand the importance of saying “no” when they feel uncomfortable, and know how to tell a trusted adult if something happens that worries them. Students were also reminded about the importance of self-care, hygiene, and staying healthy during their growing-up stage.
The seminar was divided into two separate sessions—one for girls and one for boys—so that each group could discuss topics relevant to their needs. The activities included presentations, discussions, short videos, and games that helped make the learning process enjoyable. Students actively participated and showed great enthusiasm throughout the event. Many of them expressed that they now better understand how to protect their privacy and take care of their bodies responsibly.
Teachers and parents also gave positive feedback, noting that the seminar encouraged more open communication between children, families, and the school. It was a valuable learning experience that not only increased students’ knowledge but also built their confidence in handling real-life situations safely.
Overall, the event was well-organized and successfully achieved its goals. For future programs, the committee suggested having shorter, more interactive sessions and adding more visual or game-based activities to keep students engaged. The teachers’ role in guiding and maintaining focus during the seminar was also seen as an important factor to continue strengthening.
The entire seminar ran smoothly and ended with a message of encouragement for all students to grow up safe, smart, and confident.
