Harapan Prestasi Elementary School successfully held its Open House 2025 with the theme “Leading with Character, Inspiring with Heart.” The event was designed to introduce the school’s academic excellence, character-based education, and holistic learning environment to prospective students and parents.
The Open House was conducted in two main sessions: trial classes from September 1–4, 2025 at the SMP Harapan Prestasi Hall, and the competition day combined with the School Principal Presentation on September 27, 2025 at Harapan Prestasi Elementary School. The program received a positive response, with 43 family registrations and 27 student participants joining the competitions.
During the trial classes, a total of 82 kindergarten students from Kidea Cawang and Kidea Duren Sawit participated enthusiastically in a series of engaging learning activities. They explored Science & English Experiments, Music, Physical Education, Life Skills, Art, and ICT sessions designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills. These learning experiences reflected Harapan Prestasi’s commitment to meaningful, joyful, and student-centered education.
In his welcome remarks, Principal of Harapan Prestasi Elementary School, Mr. Gunawan, M.Pd, expressed appreciation for the support of parents. He said, “At Harapan Prestasi, we believe that education must shape both the mind and the heart. Learning should be joyful, meaningful, and build strong character. The Open House gave families the opportunity to experience how we guide students to grow academically, mentally, and emotionally with strong values.”
The event continued with an inspiring Competition Day featuring Spelling Bee, Coloring Contest, and Sports Challenges. While the students enjoyed the competitions, parents attended the School Principal Presentation which highlighted Harapan Prestasi’s educational philosophy, academic standards, character-building programs, Cambridge-based literacy development, and co-curricular enrichment.
The program also featured student performances, including storytelling in English, Indonesian storytelling, and a music ensemble, as well as student testimonials from Grade 4–6 representatives who shared their learning journey at Harapan Prestasi.
One of the parents-to-be who attended expressed a positive impression of the event, saying, “This school environment feels warm and supportive. I can see that the teachers not only educate but also guide students with patience and care. The programs are balanced between academics, character, and creativity.”
A student participant, Gwen from Grade 4, also shared her experience: “I love studying here because learning is always exciting. Our teachers encourage us to think, ask questions, and try new things every day.”
Overall, the Open House 2025 ran smoothly and achieved its goals of building strong school–parent relationships and introducing Harapan Prestasi’s educational programs to the community. The organizing team noted several points for improvement, including broader event promotion and enhanced coordination during the school tour to better serve visiting families.
