SDS Harapan Prestasi – Academic Year 2025/2026
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, SDS Harapan Prestasi successfully held a Parenting Seminar with the theme “Growing Up, Growing Close” (Tumbuh Besar, Tetap Dekat). The event took place in the school auditorium and was attended by parents and guardians of students from Grades 4–6.
This seminar was designed to address the challenges of raising children in today’s digital era. Generation Alpha, born after 2010, grows up surrounded by gadgets, social media, and instant access to information. While these advancements bring opportunities, they also affect children’s emotional and social development. As they enter their pre-teen years, parents are encouraged to better understand their children’s cognitive, physical, and psychosocial characteristics in order to foster healthy communication and stronger emotional bonds.
The seminar featured Mrs. Leony Desliawati Natadihardja, M.Si., Psi., who shared practical strategies for parenting with love, active listening, and wise leadership within the family. Through an interactive session and open discussion, she guided parents to reflect on their role as the primary support system in nurturing their children’s growth—academically, socially, and emotionally.
In his opening remarks, the Principal of SDS Harapan Prestasi emphasized the importance of this initiative. “The Parenting Seminar is a moment for parents to learn how to become better parents—staying close to their children while accompanying them through the turbulent journey of pre-teen growth,” he said.
The event concluded with a lively question-and-answer session, where parents actively shared their experiences and gained new insights from the resource person. The atmosphere was warm and engaging, highlighting the shared commitment between the school and parents in guiding children to grow confidently in today’s fast-paced digital world.
SDS Harapan Prestasi believes that strong collaboration between school and family is essential in shaping students’ character and future. This Parenting Seminar served not only as an informative program but also as an inspiring reminder of the vital role parents play in their children’s lives.
